In the dark of the heart do you hear the beating of a child
viciously red, cradle its head
let it breath what it needs arteries splitting at the seems
deep dark cherries dripping on me
Sacred part within you heart tears right out
the screaming thumping shouts
vessels within shows me your sin
heart attacks as it laughs
body cracks your bones in half
skeleton breathes finally
And I need what I breath
to believe
every bone in my body
serves me to speak honestly
from my heart to my knees

I've been a fan for a long time and I am floored by this album. this is the culmination of YEARS of work. And it's truly a mindblowing album. I remember seeing Hortus Musicus 3 live in a backyard in suburban Chicago. locked it in my head ever since. hearing it again to close out this album gave me an insane rush of emotions. Also, "Little Tree" is the best song he's ever written imo.
To hear the sound of Melaina Kol develop over the years has been a privilege and a wild experience. Spencer Rose
